Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has turned out to require more time and attention than I have at the moment so it's coming! But not for another week or two.
Instead, I've been working on the far more portable Prince of Thieves embroidery I wanted to do a couple weeks ago ( https://www.makingandmovies.com/post/robin-hood-prince-of-thieves-1991 ) but didn't have the energy for. When Alan Rickman said this line, Ben told me I should embroider it on a pillow. But after seeing Marian's tapestry work, I thought maybe I'd use it as an excuse to explore one of my favorite historical documents (yes, document) ever: The Bayeux Tapestry.
If you've never taken a gander at the Bayeux, it's all online now on this beautiful website: https://www.bayeuxmuseum.com/en/the-bayeux-tapestry/discover-the-bayeux-tapestry/
I used 3 of the 4 stitches used in the historical piece (I just don't like the stem stitch) including the Bayeux stitch, or couching, which I learned for this work.
I'm so pleased with how this turned out and I feel like it's the most me I've been in a work so far. Here's to more of that.
I have to take a week off at the beginning of May so I'm going to try to finish TNMT alongside this week's unbelievably timed movie (thanks random number generator), MORTAL KOMBAT. (You have to scream the title. I don't make the rules.)
